God Is At Work

Sometimes I feel like a big mess. Like I have absolutely nothing figured out and am extremely FAR from perfect. Like if there was a scale for being slightly imperfect to being deficient, defective, broken, bottom-of-barrel imperfect, the latter would be me! All I see is the rubble and the dirt. A BIG mess! Then I begin to remember how God created the Earth. How He is a master craftsman. At His absolute and peremptory Word He spoke it in existence. He created us from the dirt of the Earth. I look at all of his magnificent creations. The brilliance of a setting sun, or the cascading of a magnificent waterfall. I look around and see the beauty in nature. The uniqueness and the array of every species of plant and animal. The splendor and majesty of a night sky. And then all at once I am filled with a hope that surely the God of Wonders, the God who can make something out of nothing, can make something beautiful of me. Something from the mess that I’ve made. All of the mistakes and regrettably wrong decisions I’ve made. Each and every opportunity I failed to grab. And every time I have failed and fell flat on my face. Then suddenly I am enveloped by God’s promises and I am reminded that God is at work in my life. And in my heart I have faith and believe that He is making a masterpiece. As His Word says He makes everything beautiful in its time.

He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”  Ecclesiastes 3:11

Sometimes all we see is the construction zone or the dust and debris, but God is carefully at work in each and every believer’s heart and He WILL finish what he started!

Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”  Philippians 1:6

So if you are reading this today be encouraged that God is not finished yet; He’s not done with you. You are His masterpiece!
